Frequently Asked Questions

Is the church affiliated with any denomination or movement?

Our name, Fairbanks Baptist Church, is simply a historic name as the church has been in existence since 1828. As of recent history, the church identifies as an unaffiliated Baptist church.

So, the answer is no. We would not identify with any movement or denomination. Though we do uphold Baptistic beliefs.

Does the church believe in eternal salvation?

It is the belief of Fairbanks that once a person receives Jesus into their life, they are secured by the sealing of the Holy Spirit until God calls them onwards into heaven.

So we would be an advocate for eternal security under that belief.

What is the church’s belief in regards to salvation?

It is by Grace Alone, not of any man-made works should any man boast he has pleased God.

It is by Faith Alone, not by any rite or acts of service. Not penance but repentance. Not of any public rites either such as even baptism.

It is in Christ Alone, no one can ever take the place of the salvation work of the part of God, whom we know as Jesus Christ. He is the Head, we are His friends and servants. There is no other hierarchy given to man except the offices of pastor and deacons which is given to only SERVE the Church and not rule over her.
